Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) today poses a tough question to Pakatan Rakyat (PR) de factor leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, over its decision not to cooperate with local Sabah opposition parties, SAPP in particular.

SAPP Secretary-general Datuk Richard Yong especially wanted to know why are PR adamant of contesting both the parliament and state seats in the coming General Elections without wanting to cooperate with the local opposition parties, when they are not even convinced of winning Sabah.

He said this was clearly reflected in the recent statement made by senior PR leader cum DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang, in which he declared that PR have a good chance of capturing such states like Penang, Selangor, Kelantan, Kedah, Perak, Negeri Sembilan and Perlis, but Sabah is not on their winning list.

“Why then are they obstructing Sabah parties such as SAPP from fighting for State rights?

“Are they having some hidden agendas which are more important than toppling BN in Sabah?” Yong questioned.

Besides this, he also said SAPP wants Anwar to make it clear if his decision of going alone in the coming General Elections also means he does not need any help from SAPP for the Parliament seats?

Yong said such a decision implied that PR is over-confident, and therefore there’s no need for cooperation from Sabah parties to fight against the BN in this coming General Elections.
